May Angel never grow old. Which is to say we want the others around her—the critic, the weight watcher, the badmouths, the loudmouths, the stalker, that one who followed her all the way to Hong Kong—we wish for them all to shrivel up and die. And if she does grow old, may she fight off the ravages of old age. May her body stay firm, and when she is not firm, may she have the resolve to stall gravity from pulling down on her. May her body stay firm right now. Finally, in the twilight of her years, when she has shed the body that she has now, may she look at these pictures and thank us for preserving what is most essential.
