Let’s be honest, guys who've won in the genetic lottery have it easy. With their seemingly perfect physical features, the simple shirt-and-jeans combo can make them catch every woman’s attention.

But what about the semi-gwapos? The “okay lang”, “hindi wow”, or what women teasingly label the “mabait siya” type of dudes?

Luckily, there’s no need to undergo any bizarre facial treatments, or spend hours of insane workouts in the gym just to look more appealing. The secret is simple: Dress up a little more than the regular Juan is expected to.

So ditch that ugly tank top and cargo shorts and follow these quick tips:

1) Pick up a pair of sunnies you’d like to wear everywhere

Sunglasses are definitely NOT only for the summer. We won’t hold it against you if you wear them when it’s raining outside—there are no rules. Just make sure to pick a frame that suits your face shape. By doing this, you’ll be able to enhance your killer features while drawing away people’s attention to your least appealing facial features. See the infographic below for your reference:

2) Elevate your bag game

Backpacks are like T-shirts. They are cool and they get the job done, but sometimes you’ve got to dress up a bit. There’s a reason why there are various kinds of bags in the market—they serve different purposes. One may be suitable for the office (or school), while others might suit more formal occasions.

3) Dress up like a grown up

Nope, we don’t mean dress up like your tito. We mean ditch those overly flashy tees. We know you love them, but you have to give them up if you want to unlock your maximum gwapo potential. A simple switch to button-downs, pullovers, and long sleeved shirts will make you stand out against an ocean of men wearing graphic tees. And remember: maturity is an attractive quality.

4) Look beyond skinny jeans

Skinny jeans may be great, but they are not your only option. Add some variety by experimenting with joggers, ripped jeans, khakis, chinos, dress slacks, and more. They are less common in a crowd so you’ll be more noticeable to everyone else. You can also try to cuff the end of your jeans to make your entire look sharper.

5) Be more adventurous

Lastly, don’t be afraid to experiment and try out new trends. You’ll have a hard time finding new looks that work on you if you’ll always play it safe.
