Experts say we naturally shed hair on a regular basis to make way for new strands. But think of it as a red flag when you notice that your scalp thinning without any signs of replacement. You might want to consider the worst-case scenario: hair loss.
Hair loss may be due to various factors but is most likely caused by your genes. For men, what we call male-pattern baldness is a common condition and begins at the onset of puberty. Receding hairlines and bald spots start to show up by this time, not to mention those alarmingly thin, soft, and short strands.
But if your family has no history of men going bald, it can be a result of other factors. These include hormonal changes, scalp infection, skin disorders, and stress-induced diseases. And yes, the uncontrollable hair-pulling disorder called trichotillomania is part of it.
People under medication are also susceptible to balding. Those with depression, heart problems, arthritis, and cancer, who take prescribed drugs, may affect their hair growth.

1) Get a haircut

Water flushes out waste from the body, creating a healthy internal environment for hair to flourish. Again, a balanced diet is key.

Peppermint and gingko biloba are also herbal medicines listed by the Department of Health (DOH) among their recommended herbal plants. Just like the rosemary, these improve hair growth by counteracting deficiencies in the hair follicles.
