1) Antonio's Tagaytay

What to know: Dubbed by foodies as the "No. 1 Restaurant in the Philippines," and recognized by The Miele Guide as one of the best restaurants in Asia, Antonio's Tagaytay is definitely a must-visit. The place rests cozily in Tagaytay City, just a two-hour drive away from Metro Manila. Expect first-class treatment and world-class food from chef and owner, Tony Boy Escalante. For a memorable dinner, try out their bestsellers: The Lechon De Leche, Roasted Duck Breast, Grilled Certified Angus Prime Ribeye Steak, Steak Tartare, Tempura Oysters with Lumpfish Caviar, Baked Ox-Tail, and many more.

L'Aubergine

What to know: Founded in 2007 by Swiss Chef Hansjorg L'Aubergine, this award-winning restaurant sticks to tradition and a big believer of the classic methods of French cooking. If that doesn't get your taste buds going, wait till you get a sampling of L'Aubergine's heavy hitters. One of the authorities in superb French dining in the country, L'Aubergine is known for its fresh garden salads, mouth-watering main courses, and fine wines. The White German Asparagus with Prosciutto Ham, Hollandaise sauce, and sauteed parsley potatoes are must-orders. If you're stumped and can't decide which to order, just let L'Aubergine's Degustation Menu take over and satisfy you.

3) Blackbird

What to know: Blackbird at the Nielson Tower, Ayala Triangle used to be an American military airfield during WWII. So it's no surprise that Chefs Colin Mackay and Kerwin Go took its inspiration from there and came up with this aviation-themed delight named after one of the legendary and fastest aircraft in history. Its art deco-inspired design makes dining here an experience in itself. If it gets overcrowded, you can take your business outside and dine alfresco in patio to enjoy the cool breeze of Ayala Triangle. Must-tries: Salmon Pie, Blackbird Burger, and Blackbird Fish Pie.

4) The Nest – Vivere Hotel
 

What to know: Since we're on the topic of aviation, why not have your date high above the ground? The Nest does not just offer lip-smacking delicacies; it also provides a great view of the city. It's on the 31st floor roof top of Vivere Hotel & Resorts. The Nest is the perfect backdrop for those "Happy Anniversary" Instagram posts, or—gulp—a wedding proposal.  What to order? The Nest’s Beef Salpicao, The Bistro Steak, Crispy Catfish Salad, Mango Salad with Scallops, then top it off with their special Sangrias. Yum.

5) Nobu Manila

What to know: Think getting absorbed with the experience of dining in one of the most recognized restaurants in Japan while enjoying the majectic view of Manila isn't enticing and romantic enough for you? Better reconsider, bro, because Nobu Manila at the Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams is a keeper. Enjoy Chef Nobu's world-famous signature dishes, from his spectacular sushi to his cooked dishes bannered by the Black Cod Miso and Lobster with Wasabi Pepper Sauce.
