Yes, sneakerheads, the Big A has closed a deal with the American musician behind club-rockin' hits such as "Get Lucky" (with Daft Punk) and "Blurred Lines" (with Robin Thicke). It's a partnership that should further expand the super sikat shoe brand's presence into the mainstream music scene, and make the singer more visible to the shoe-lovin' population.
"Working with an iconic brand like adidas is such an incredible opportunity. From the classic track suit, to growing up in Virginia wearing Stan Smiths, adidas has been a staple in my life. Their pieces are timeless. This is an exciting partnership for both me and for Bionic Yarn," says Pharell. We agree, bro. We still keep our inaamag Stan Smiths that we bought a decade ago!
The deal will include Pharell's company called Bionic Yarn which has the noble intention of turning discarded plastic gathered from the seas into usable thread. This possibly means that the Pharell adidas shoes that will be made in the very near future will have recycled materials—not to mention a look that reflects the singer's persona: hip, sophisticated, and playful. Mother Nature will be proud.
We still have to wait for the kicks this partnership will bring (word is the arrive is later this year), although we're already expecting them to be selling like hot cakes once they arrives. Because, you know, Pharell = Happy.
As for us, we sure hope we'll, uhm, get lucky and score a pair for ourselves. #WishUponAStar
