For some, the best way to save money is to go all out and do something over the top. Some try to go an entire month (or even a year!) without buying luxuries. Some try to be as minimalist as possible—they wear the same clothes every day, they use organic, homemade products, or commit to downing bowls upon bwols of pancit canton just to save heaps of cash and lower their expenses.
Once you see what some people do to to budget and save, you might be inspired to start an unbelievable challenge of your own.
Take for example, Ivory Franz Hermosa Ongmanchi. Ivory’s money-saving story has become viral all over social media for her inspiring and incredible technique.
In her Facebook post dated June 13, she shared her recently concluded Tipid Challenge, where she was able to save a total of P20,346 in just three months.
According to her, every night before going to bed, she empties her wallet from all the coins and P20, P50, and P100 bills. She sets them aside and puts them in her savings bottle.
Impossible? Not if you discipline yourself and put your mind and heart into it.
“Kung talagang gusto niyo makapag-ipon para po sa future niyo," she explains, "gumawa kayo ng sarili ninyong diskarte. Happy ako kasi marami pa rin akong na-inspire and na-motivate na mag-ipon din kahit hindi sa paraan na katulad ng nagawa ko, Again, kanya kanya po tayo ng strategy para sa sariling ikauunlad natin.”
