Time to ditch this proverbial question: "Saan tayo kakain?"

If you still don't know where to take your girl out this weekend, fret not! We asked some of the metro’s well-known restaurant owners and chefs on their go-to dining spots, aside from the ones they own. Because really, who knows better than these professionals?

JOEL BINAMIRA OF ZUBUCHON

Mamou

This is the place to be when craving for steak, according to Zubuchon founder Joel Binamira. “Mamou’s steaks are the meat equivalent of lechon. Perfectly grilled. Very satisfying.”

Cibo

“For pasta, go for Cibo or Grace Park by Margarita Fores. Margarita changes her menu regularly, so you're in for a surprise during every visit.”

SARSÁ Kitchen+Bar

For Negrense food, Binamira recommends the kitchenette. “Don’t forget to try their Sizzling Kansi and Sisig Inasal!”

CHING M. UY OF LIVESTOCK RESTAURANT BAR

Tsukiji

Tsukiji in Makati is synonymous with Japanese food, says the owner and chef of Livestock Restaurant Bar. “We like eating at restaurants that serve wholesome flavors and honest food. A couple of our favorites are Tsukuji in Makati. Fresh, raw, yummy!”

Gulliver's Prime Ribs of Beef

“For a mean roast, we go to Gulliver's Prime Ribs of Beef. It's in an old hotel along Quezon Avenue. Try it, it’s very good”

DENISE TOLOSA OF STELLA WOOD FIRED BISTRO

Three Sisters’ Restaurant of Pasig

“For old-school, Filipino food, I like Three Sisters’ Restaurant of Pasig,” Chef Tolosa raves. What to try in particular? Their all-time favorite BBQ, of course!

Bodega Casa Villa

If you want something fresh, try this Marikina joint. “This restaurant offers Fil-Mex food that’s affordable. Try the Dinuguan Burrito!”

Silantro

“And if you want a bang for your buck, Silantro never fails! Everything is delicious!”

Smile Elephant Thai Restaurant

Head to Kapitolyo if you’re in search of Thai flavors, Tolosa says. “Aside from ordering the classics, you should order something that you’ve never tried before!”
