Why BAYANIHAN Bowling Tournament?
Bayanihan refers to the spirit of UNITY AND COOPERATION. Although bayanihan can manifest itself in many forms, it is probably most clearly and impressively displayed in the old tradition of neighbors helping a relocating family by getting enough volunteers to carry the whole house, and literally moving it to its new location.
What is the Goal of this tournament?
This tournament was organized to help one of our bowling BAYANI, who brought Glory for our country who is in danger of being totally blind. Our brother Joonee Gatchalian, who won awards in the international bowling arena, is suffering from Glaucoma and needs immediate eye operation.
What is Glaucoma?
Glaucoma is the name for a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve. The optic nerve, which carries information from the eye to the brain, is in the back of the eye. When the nerve is damaged, you can lose your vision.
How much money to be raised?
The eye operation alone costs P 200,000 and professional fee not included.

Venue:Green Valley Bowling Center, Pasig
Date: January 31, 2009
Format:
Simple singles tournament composed of 8 games with lane movement every 2 games. Top 10 winners will receive cash prizes based on the number of participants. There will be two squads and the top 10 winners of the combined squads will be declared winners. Guaranteed P 30,000 for the Champion.
Handicap System:
Class O: Male will have no handicap, Female will receive 8 handicap.
Class A: Male will receive 8 handicap, Female will receive 16 handicap.
Class B: Male will receive 16 handicap, Female will receive 24 handicap.
Senior: Additional 4 handicap for 60 years old and above
Squad Time: (registration will be 30 mins before squad time)
1:00 pm Roll-off
5:00 pm Roll-off
Prizes: Top 10 places will receive prizes, Guaranteed P 30,000 for the Champion
Entry Fee:
1st Entry P 2,000.00
2nd Entry P 1,200.00
* Package of P 3,000 for bowlers who paid 2 entries upfront before the first squad
Sponsorship/Donation:
This tournament accepts donation for our beneficiary with any amount.
Sponsorship Deal:
Free Printing of Name on the Banner to be displayed during the tournament for sponsors with amount of P 1,000 and above.
We also accept donation in kind (bowling item, food, shirts, etc), items will be used as prizes.
Sponsors with P 5,000 and above can put up a booth on the said event.
