I agree , most couples ( married or long-term relationship) do not communicate nearly enough.
In my own situation , (married 11 years) I often try to ask my wife what she likes, what she doesn't like..and why.. she talks around the subject but rarely gives a straight answer.
Does she like when I go down on her , I think so , but she only lets me stay down there for a few minutes( maybe even less) before she starts pulling me up , hinting ,but not saying that it is time to get on to the main attraction.
So much for all the books that say women want lots of foreplay, my wife just wants/prefers (?) intercourse.
I believe that much of her inhibitions are because of her upbringing ( Catholic ) . I don't think she will ever totally embrace her sexuality and be open and expressive. I will continue to enjoy what I get when I get it , and accept that she wants to please me, even though it may not be as often or as diverse as I might wish.
