In Honor of Homer: 6 Best TV Dads
So the news that saw a good amount of FB airtime today: Rumours that The Simpsons is coming to an end. “It’s all to do with a reported breakdown in negotiations between the studio and the six main actors who voice those Springfield-situated characters,” writes Glen Levy in Time.com.
Simply put: It all boils down to money. Nancy Cartwright aka Bart (among others), Hank Azaria aka Moe (among others), Dan Castellaneta aka Homer (among others), among others earlier suggested a 30% pay cut for a slice of back-end profit. The network renegotiated: Make it 45%.
And so the hoopla begins. But our minds were elsewhere: Where the hell are we gonna get our dose of Homer?! As much as it’s about the whole family and their relations with the rest of them Springfieldians, Homer really is something else.

He’s really funny and kind of stupid, which makes him even funnier than he already is. But he loves his family so much, and remains super devoted to his blue-haired girl that said stupidity only makes him more endearing than anything.
In honor of Homer, here’s a list of the Best Dads TV has seen! Feel free to join the conversation. On the comment section, add those we may have overlooked.

1. Homer Simpsons, The Simpsons. He loves TV, donuts, beer, and his family. He can be mindless but that only makes for mindless fun. He gets in a lot of trouble, which are then saved by his honest-to-goodness intentions and earnestness. He's a tad embarrassing but Homer loves his kids so much (remember when he bought Lisa her first saxophone) and is hopelessly devoted to his family it's hard not to remember your own dad.
