Weekender: August 17, 2012
Farewell seems to be this week's theme as we bid adieu to a few things, not the least of which are the Olympic games, which left us a load of memories both good and not-so-good. Multiply, also known as that social-network/online store/photo-sharing hub of a site, is about to close shop, save for the actual online store aspects. The storm clouds have also departed though it remains to be seen just how long this sunshine will last us. If it doesn't--which would be terrible news for out-of-towners this long weekend--we'll just have to make do with these babes of the week and this lady, Hazel Feliciano.
Should another storm hit, why not be prepared by checking out our explainer on PAGASA's Project NOAH? Among other benefits, the bureau's publicly accessible weather information center should help answer all your crucial "Should I evacuate or not?" questions. Meanwhile, those burdened by should-I-punch-this-MMDA-officer-or-not dilemmas would do well to read up on anger management, lest they become the next Robert Clair Carabuena.
Now, everyone take a chill pill, and see what you can do this weekend in the gallery below.

NBA 3X Philippines
WHERE: Mall of Asia Music Hall
WHEN: August 17-19
WHAT'S HAPPENING: A three-day sporting extravaganza for NBA fans, and basketball players. Presented by Sprite, the event will host a 3-on-3 hoops tournament with different age and gender divisions. Wanna join? Too late for that now as registration closed last August 10, but at least you'll be able to watch local players giving their best in hopes of getting noticed by guests Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets and the Charlotte Ladycats Dancers.
Top local players will also be given the chance to try out for the Sprite Uncontainable Game. The try-outs will give two Filipino players a chance to be selected to a pool of 24 global players, from which Lebron James and Kobe Bryant will choose for Team Sudden and Team Intense, respectively, which will then play in the next All-Star Game.
