Best of Youtube: Eraserheads Covers!
Almost two decades have passed since the fantastic four that is Ely, Marcus, Raimund, and Buddy released their debut record, UltraElectroMagneticPop! Yet they still make waves every time anything Eraserheads-related comes up. Big waves. Their two reunion concerts became the talk of the town, as did the first E-heads tribute album, Ultraelectromagneticjam!: The Music Of The Eraserheads, which saw Francis M., Imago, and Barbie Almalbis doing their own renditions.
Now we have a fresh batch of artists doing the same in a new collection, The Reunion: An Eraserheads Tribute Album. Featuring Peryodiko's Vin Dancel, Marc Abaya, Razorback, Hilera, Itchyworms, and Mayonnaise, to name a few, the album was released in early May by Star Records. It has since proven to be a hit, ranking as the fourth best-selling album in Astroplus for the week of May 10 to 16.
While we doubt that the Eraserheads will be guesting anytime soon on The GMA Supershow to receive a 5X Platinum Award as these guys did back when they released their third full-cut, Cutterpillow, here's what we know: their music will live on. Not only in these tribute albums, mind you, but in Youtube as well where you'll find tons of Eheads covers--some good, some not so--from a diverse bunch of people.

1) Johnoy Danao puts a smile on our faces with a cover of "With A Smile"
Rating: Yes, Johnoy, you may cover ANY Eraserheads song. In fact, we insist.
2) "Mabuhay, OPM rockers!" says this American dude before covering "Huwag Kang Matakot"
Rating: "Huwag keng metekot, di keeta pababayaan kailen man..." If you've always wanted to hear an OPM song in a different accent sung earnestly, well, here's Chris, man.
3) David Dimuzio, we might just award you with a copy of FHM's June issue (Kaye Abad on the cover! Available Now!)
Rating: Uy, si Roadfill kumakanta?! Baka naman lip-synch yan ha!
