Why We Buy, the Science of Shopping by Paco Underhill
September 18, 2006

This book answers all the questions you ask yourself about women and their shopping habits. Why we Shop explains why women (people in general actually) act the way they do inside a store, a grocery, and the mall. The first few chapters give off that scholarly vibe, making the reader feel as if he were reviewing a thesis. But read along, soon you’ll find yourself absorbed in Underhill’s observations and explanations. Quite interesting are his theories on why people never seem to pick up baskets laid right smack on the entrance, why signs and tarps are ignored, and why overly friendly sales associates scare shoppers away. Great for businessmen, too.
