The FHM E3 2012 Special Awards!

The dust has settled, and the halls of the Los Angeles Convention Center, where E3 2012 took place, have now said goodbye to the massive throbbing mass of E3 staples—game devs, journalists, booth babes, and fanboys. During the expo, gamers tuned in as industry giants revealed new trailers of highly-anticipated titles, promised the coming of fresh hardware, and gave us a glimpse of new titles.
E3’s practically a videogame Coachella, except the only guitars you’ll see are designed for pretend rockstar simulators. Now, we dole out awards. Below are the games that caught our attention.
Hottie Award
Lollipop Chainsaw (Xbox 360, PS3)
A B-movie of a game, if we ever saw one. You’re a sexy cheerleader in a sexy traditional cheerleader attire who happens to find herself in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Which means there will be blood, and gore, rock 'n roll, and a heavy dose of sexual innuendo. Think Dead Rising, only campier and with more legs and cleavage. Joining Julia the cheerleader in her quest is her boyfriend’s decapitated head that can be used for attacking and a massive chainsaw, which is unlikely to be used exclusively for chopping onions.
Return-of-the-comeback Award
Pikmin 3 (WiiU)
This launch title for Nintendo’s new console, the Wii U, is the third part of a series that started on the Gamecube. The series was praised for its highly imaginative and innovative gameplay that involved controlling an unusual plant people called “Pikmin.” Each kind of Pikmin has different skills, and the player must make use of them effectively to overcome obstacles. The third game promises more Pikmin “species” for an even more varied game experience.
Best Gritty Reboot
Tomb Raider (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)
Everyone loves a gritty reboot. Especially if it involves one of the most beloved heroines of our generation, Lara Croft. Her latest adventure takes us to a time when Lara’s just starting to learn the ropes. The focus will be on survival, and will attempt to show us how Lara grows from being a green-behind-the-ears adventurer to the female version of Indiana Jones. One of the most hyped games in E3, receiving a lot of love from the gaming press.
