Best RPG Game: Dragon Age: Origins
We couldn’t expect anything less from the people who brought us the brilliant Baldur’s Gate games, and boy, did these guys deliver with Dragon Age: Origins.
Like most other RPGs, the game lets you create your own character, choose a class of your own liking, and slay whatever needs to be slain. What the game does however that most games don’t is the way your morality-based choices could affect the outcome of the game.
In the end, you’re more drawn to the characters, more involved in the world, and you’ll feel like you’re actually playing and fulfilling a role, because you know that what you do, really has an effect on the world. And that is what a true RPG should be.
Best Action Game: Killzone 2
Xbox 360 owners can gloat about their Halo games all they want, and PS3 owners won’t even bat an eyelash. They’ve got Killzone 2 after all, and it has all the action and explosions a gamer could ever need.
The graphics in Killzone 2 is technical perfection, which when coupled with the game’s outstandingly moody art direction, makes the game one of the best-looking of this generation. The intensity never lets up, and by most measures, that is what a first-person shooting game should be all about.
