Madden NFL 11 is the 22nd annual installment of the popular video game franchise named after Pro Football Hall of Famer John Madden, and it is looking oh-so-impressive year after year.
Just like last year’s release, expect this year’s incarnation to provide the intense cinematic experience of an actual football environment: the screaming fans, the hard-hitting surround sounds, and the awesome play-by-play commentary.
One significant improvement made this year is the game’s simplified game play. It features the all-new play-calling system GameFlow, which basically sets the plays you must choose, depending on your down and game situation.
Madden NFL 11 also promises more game time on the field and less in the playbook menu, meaning players can finish games more quickly than last year.
While, that perhaps is the game’s most significant improvement—remember the preposterous amount of time we spent choosing strategies per play in the past?—the coolest add-on for this year has got to be its headset system.
Having your headset on while playing will allow you to hear the coach’s voice, giving strategies after every huddle. Just like in real life!
What keeps fans tuned in, though, is the game’s continuous change in roster. Fresh from their recent Super Bowl win, New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees and running back Reggie Bush headline this year’s list of featured players.
NFL stars Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Chad OchoCinco return as well. We’re looking at an updated draft-filled league at its best.
Beef up on the game’s rules and rosters, and Madden NFL 11 may just prove to be as addicting as the NBA 2K series.
Trust us when we tell you that there’s nothing more fulfilling than scoring a touchdown on a snowy stadium filled with jocks, fanatics, and cheerleaders.
