What made you decide to tell your story to the world?
That was because when I was separated from my family when I went to the US, and the “APL Song” was kind of a balita. It was kind of like telling my people what was going on with me in the States, the news about me.

“The APL Song” was quite a revealing piece. What did the rest of the Black Eyed Peas think about it?
Actually, I just thought of showing it to them one day. I sang it and they were, like, “Yo, you should put that in the album,” you know. It was interesting for them cause that’s the first time they heard Tagalog in a rap. They appreciated it.
