QUARK: The weird thing about breakout celebs this year is that they were always around anyway. Like Sarah Geronimo. I think this was her breakout year as an actress, but she's always been around. This was KC Concepcion's year as an actress as well, but she's been known as a model for so long. Wincy Ong, maybe. Now THERE is a light that never goes out.
SAM: Although KC has been around for quite some time now, 2008 was her year. She proved she’s more than just the Megastar’s daughter and built a name of her own. Charice Pempengco getting a deal with Oprah, and Arnel Pineda sealing the lead for journey. It’s our golden time indeed.
ERWIN: For pop culture personalities I’d certainly put Ramon Bautista there. Who would have ever thought? I mean he sells gas, I don’t how he was able to rap against Francis M. and now he’s doing this TV show called The Weekend News with Ramon Bautista, where he’s an ultra right wing conservative in TV5, he does the BrewRats every Thursday on 99.5RT. So yeah, if there’s one pop culture personality who I really think is a breakout star, it’s Ramon Bautista. Bar none. Ramon “RamonBautista” Bautista.
