Calling to mind the headache-inducing headlines that shook the land: ZTE and Fertilizer Fund scandals, Cha-cha, anyone?
LUIS: I’m a very casual follower of current events, but yeah, I don’t mean to have a negative attitude about it but if you follow Philippine politics, It isn’t surprising anymore. 2008 was probably as unsurprising when it comes to corruption as any other year.
QUARK: It came to the point that what the government was doing was something people already expected, corruption doesn’t surprise us anymore.
SAM: This is just simply amazing, it’s a big joke! Only in the Philippines can a guy be abducted and disappear in an airport packed with people, walang ganyan sa ibang bansa. Ha ha ha!
ERWIN: If it’s proven true or whatever, its not surprising. Government corruption has been around as long as government itself, what’s more surprising is the reaction of the people, pero how short it’s become after that is what’s more surprising, wala e, it’s faster than ever, I mean, mas matagal pang sikat yung 6 cyclemind. Filipino’s are known for their short memory, ma-forgive tayo as a people, we forgive more now, faster than ever before. I think one of the Zamoras said this, every scandal lasted 13 days, with the advent of blogs, baka it could go on, but I think it made it shorter in a way, I think it’s less than 13 days now. Right now mainit, pero next week, panis na, kung ano naman yung new scandal, mas entertaining. Entertainment lang naman para sa atin lahat yan e.
MARC: Whatever happened to them? That’s my question now. Where did those cases go? Then there’s a new scandal brewing right now right, fertilizer scam, so what will happen to those.
CHA CHA
SAM: Nakakasawa na, every year, every president na lang, it’s too tiring that people don’t care as much as before anymore. It’s just the same recycled shit all over again.
