Chinese cars / MRT / the commute
LUIS: I take the cab most when I commute, and the MRT next only because the MRT can’t get you to where you want to go exactly, I’m too lazy to switch PUVs. But you know what, I think I take the tricycle most. It’s the public transportation I ride most frequently. But if it comes down to awarding the most commuter friendly PUV, it’s the MRT – but only when it’s not rush hour.
ERWIN: I like cabs, because you can talk to cab drivers, masarap sila kausap. Yung mga taxi driver marami silang mga fascist ano, yung mga comments na “gusto naming patayin na lang yan” marami kong nakausap young and old drivers ganyan ewan ko kung bakit common yan sa kanila, gusto nilang I-clean up yung streets. Probably because they’re always on it, nabuburat na sila, isipin mo kung ikaw laging na t-traffic. With MRT, LRT, it’s just physical, you go there to get groped. With interaction, you take a cab.
QUARK: They’re cute (Chinese cars are) When I’m not driving (not a Chinese car) I take the MRT, we have a fairly decent railway system, and I think it’s come a long way. The new rail line is something to look forward to.
SAM: It showed how wais, our Chinese brothers are, it’s quite an ingenuity that made people want to buy car even of the high gas prices. Downside nga lang the cars are funny, sa sobrang liit nila puwedeng na itulak ng isang batang babae.The Metro trains kasi are the most practical way of transportation, it’s sad lang kasi minsan yung mga tao sinasagad talaga. Hindi na bale na mangudngod yung nguso nila sa salamin ng tren basta makasakay pa sila. They really do anything that’s why 2008 is the “year of the MRT”
