LUIS: It’s not something I look forward to. I’m not the most politically adept but right now I can’t think of a candidate who won’t plunge the country into despair and terror. We don’t have an Obama, no matter how much change these presidential candidates are promising, and no matter how much we’d like to have one, we’re never going to have an Obama.
ERWIN: It’s something to be bored about. I see the future of Philippine politics and it’s boring. Wala na yung mga politicians of yesteryear, you really had the good guys, sina Salonga, you don’t even have somebody as intelligent and charismatic as Marcos, or even somebody as colorful as Erap. I’d rather have Erap than anything now, sana nga tumakbo na siya para lang magkabuhay yung election. I haven’t voted for any president since Salonga.
QUARK: Even if corruption has made us cynical, the election is still something to be optimistic about. Para sa akin, it’s BF. Bayani Fernando seems to be a decent guy. I mean, he’s not going to Barrack Obama or anything, the 2010 elections won’t mean change for the whole country, but it’s a step, and it’s something to be hopeful about.
