The band’s 20 years old. Are you surprised you lasted this long?
JB Leonor: No, we were not really expecting anything.
Jett Pangan: We were living on a day-to-day basis, especially when we were just starting. Everything was unsure. Every year that went by I remember JB saying, “Okay, we’re good for another year.” He was always saying that, so it became the mentality for the band.
JB: But the most challenging time was when Teddy (Diaz, The Dawn’s original guitarist) died, kala namin wala na talaga.
In those 20 years, what do you think has changed in you guys?
JB: Hairstyle! Ha ha ha! Body weight also.
