Who? Liv Tyler (hysterical) Scott Speedman (hallucinating)

What’s it about? An engaged couple decides to stay over in a vacation house for a nightcap. Things go haywire when they hear a knock on the door. The aftermath: Picture the house ravaged with chopped-up doors, holes on the walls, blood smeared all over, a knife on a table dripping with blood, and more blood. Who’s to blame for the chaos? A psycho with a sack on his head.

What’s good about it? It tries to creep you out by opening with lines that say, “What you are about to see is inspired by true events that happened on the night of February 11, 2005…the brutal events that took place there are still not entirely known.” Well, it’s still fiction.

What’s bad about it? The psycho with a sako for a head kind of reminds you of that villain Scarecrow from Batman Begins. Rip-off!

The verdict: It might be a typical slasher but it’s capable of dishing decent scares here and there. Take this line from the flick, for instance: “Stop please, why are you doing this to us?” “Because you were home.” - Rhea M. Catada
