A remake of a famous mumu movie, The Wolfman is about a certain Lawrence Talbot (del Toro) going back home to help solve the bloody mess of a missing brother. Of course timing couldn’t be worse: It’s hunting season, wolves are all around, and dad happens to be one of them. Unlike remakes that cheapen old originals, The Wolfman’s current version demonstrates high regard for the original. Critics, in fact, say this is monster movie for the thinking man. In all, it’s hour and 50 of an out-and-out suspense/thriller goodness. - Lou Albano
