Pandora’s Box

Three siblings in their forties living in Istanbul suddenly get a call that their mother has gone missing from her home at the Western Black Sea Coast of Turkey. The three reunite, and take every step they can to find their mother, setting aside all of their other problems for the meantime. Soon it becomes obvious that the three don’t really get along well, and it’s as if their reunion has opened up a Pandora’s box of sorts. Forced to stay together to continue the search for the mother, the three inevitably gets to know each other better, and learn to introspectively understand their brothers more and themselves as well.

 

Samson and Delilah

In a secluded Aboriginal community in the Central Australian desert, dissatisfaction or rather boredom is brewing, in the hearts of two teenagers Samson and Delilah. The routine of a life that the two have, nothing that can be classified as exciting happens, so the two escapes the confines of their community. They soon discover that the world outside is harsh, and how unfair, and unfriendly it could be. Their only hope lies in their love for each other, and together they find the ways that would help them survive.

Set in the dictatorial regime of Augusto Pinoche in Chile, the film is about Raul Peralta, who is in his fifties, who idolizes Tony Manero—the name of the protagonist in the movie Saturday Night Fever played by John Travolta. Every week, Raul Peralta and his friends dance in a small bar in Santiago, imitating the moves of their disco dancing idol. So when the national television announces a Tony Manero-impersonation contest, Raul doesn’t hesitate and takes a shot at the competition. In order to do so though, Raul is driven to commit a series of crimes, which inadvertently lead the secret police to hunt down his friends, who aside from being a devoted group of dancers, are also resistance fighters.

But before he does become a shepherd, a challenge is put in front of him, and that challenge is to win the hand of a beautiful woman named Tulpan. Joined in his quest by his faithful friend Boni, Asa will do everything in his power to become a worthy herder and husband.
