Just last weekend, Oasis fans the world over were shocked to hear Noel Gallgher, the bands' lead guitarist and primary creative, annouce his departure from the band. Again. As of last count by the L.A. Times, this is the third time that big brother Noel has left Oasis. He left the band during an American tour in the '90s and again during a Paris show in 2000.
While Gallagher and his brother, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, have had a love-hate relationship over the years that has been marred by verbal insults and physical altercations, this latest move by Noel seems to have an air of finality to it.
Ah, break ups. What can we say? All we can offer is a playlist that we hope can comfort every Oasis fan going through the five stages of grief. So you won't have to look back in anger anymore.
Denial: "We Used to be Friends" by the Dandy Warhols
Perhaps most famous for being the theme song of cult teen detective drama Veronica Mars, "We Used to be Friends" opens with Warhols vocalist Courtney Taylor-Taylor whispering coldly, "A long time ago, we used to be friends, but I haven't thought of you lately at all..."
He maintains his cool throughout the first verse, but it quickly dissipates in time for a red-hot falsetto chorus marked by sonic mayhem.
