Lyrically kasi, hindi naman siya solid na deep, pero hindi rin siya mababaw na what you hear is what it means. It’s more of a different take on the usual topics. Love. Heartbreak.
If you listen to some of the songs, you might think it’s about this, pero it might be about totally something else pala.

If you were going to market this album to the general rock-loving kids, how would you describe it?
Jio: In general, it’s alternative. Alternative naman is not the sound ‘eh. Alternative was coined because hindi makahon ‘yung mga artists. It wasn’t rock, it wasn’t a ballad. So in the purest sense of the word, alternative kami. Pero simpler even, maybe general rock.

How was the experience of producing the album?
Jio: Recording the first half of the album was easy kasi these were the songs we’ve been playing for a long time. Madali lang, mabilis kami magrecord.

But when it hit the second half of the album, that’s when it got a little more stressful. While we were recording the first half, we were just writing the second half. It’s the first time we brought the new material into the studio. Kala naman okay na, inayos na namin.

Pero when we recorded it, and we heard the playback, doon namin narinig na parang butas ‘to ‘ah. That’s when we realized we weren’t too sure of what we wanted to do with these songs.

Ari: And we started getting ideas, na parang “uy puwede to ah, we can put this in,” and then someone else comes up with his own idea. So yun parang we had to decide kung ano nga ba yung better idea.

Are you happy now with what came out?
Ari: Yes. Of course, it’s our first album so it might not be perfect. But we’re very happy with what came out.
Jio: We were also very lucky with Monty. Since he knew us from the start, alam niya kung ano yung gusto naming path na i-take. We were on the same page, and he understood how to go about with everything.

We say you play at Encore. How was the experience of playing in a gimikan?
Jio: Haha. Honestly, akala namin, we were going to be snubbed and the people we’re going to walk out on us, because medyo maingay nga kami. Buti nalang naging masaya, at maganda nga yung naging pagtanggap sa amin. Mahal lang yung alak! Haha.

Good thing, the DJ didn’t put in some dugs-dugs.
Jio: Haha. Buti nga.
Guitars: Actually, meron kaming isang dance remix. Ginawa ni Monty. Check nyo yung Myspace namin. Haha.

Any last words?
Jio: Grab a copy of the album. 250 pesos lang. It’s well worth it! Just approach any of us in our gigs or contact us online at pitikmusic.multiply.com, myspace.com/pitikmusic or at facebook.com/pitikmusic.
