Luha by Kapatid

Independently released
All signs point to Luha being a tribute to fallen Kapatid member, Chico Molina - God bless him. But Kapatid is recovering pretty well. While the entire album seems to be reeking of death and tragedy, Kapatid puts on display a wry sense of humor ("Banil," "Telegrama"), and funky ways ("Pyscho Love," "Hangin' Out"). There's some flirting with commercial success as well with the slower songs ("B2G," "Luha"). This is what's good about technically adept musicians - they can display some pop sensibilities without losing their cred.
