What the hell happened to the Archers? Why doesn't anyone ever point out that Blue Eagles spitfire Eric Salamat looks exactly like Brian Revilla? Ever noticed how the names of all these UAAP players—Maui Villanueva (DLSU), RR Garcia (FEU), Mikee Reyes (UP), Jewel Ponferrada (NU)—sound like FHM cover girls? Why did Ateneo's Kirk Long go away with his Bruno-hairdo? What's the deal with former King Eagle Chris Tiu and ex-Green Archers TY Tang serving as US Ambassador Kristie Kenney's constant dates to these big-time bouts? And how often does La Salle guard Simon Atkins visit his derma for a facial?

They could have been atop the leader board right now with a perfect standing had it not been for that freakish loss the Eagles suffered against QC neighbor and UAAP doormat UP Fighting Maroons.

So what now: The defending UAAP basketball champs appear to be peaking right in time for the stretch run. The top-seeded team, though, isn't as unbeatable as Blue Eagles version 2k8. This four-point strategy can just be the formula other Final Four hopefuls are looking for to dash Ateneo's hope for a back-to-back...
