So the PBA is 35 years old. How else to celebrate than with a delectable list for trivia junkies and PBA fans to munch on? And because 35 is quite a number, we'll run this in a two-part form. Swing by again tomorrow, for the conculsion!

1. The first PBA game was held on April 9, 1975 at the Araneta Coliseum. The double-header opened with Mariwasa-Noritake beating Concepcion Industries, 101-98. In the second game, Toyota edged out U/Tex, 105-101.
2. The founding teams of the PBA were Concepcion Carrier, Crispa Redmanizers, Mariwasa-Noritake Porcelainmakers, Presto Ice Cream, Royal Tru-Orange, Seven-Up Uncolas, Tanduay Rhum Makers, Toyota Comets and U-Tex Wranglers
3. The Crispa Redmanizers’ roster in the PBA’s inaugural season had five future Most Valuable Player awardees in Atoy Co, Bogs Adornado, Abet Guidaben, Philip Cezar and Freddie Hubalde.
4. Danny Florencio of the 7-Up Uncolas owned one of the first scoring records in the league, scoring 64 points in 1977.
5. Danny Florencio was also involved in the first ever player trade in the league, when he, along with Jimmy Otazu of U/Tex were traded for 7-Up’s Tino Reynoso and Ulysses Rodríguez in 1977.
6. Toyota teammates Robert Jaworski, Francis Arnaiz and Ramon Fernandez were the first three players to dish off 2,000 assists in their careers.
7. Robert Jaworski was the first player to hit a three point shot in the PBA. He did this when the innovation was introduced during an exhibition game against rival Crispa in 1980.
8. In 2007, Norman Black became the first former Import to be inducted as a player in the PBA Hall of Fame.
9. Vergel Meneses is the only four-time All-Star MVP awardee, bagging the award in 1995, 1998, 2000 and 2003.

If I am not mistaken, the highest point output in a single game was made by Paul Alvarez, while he was playing with Alaska. The single game high was 81 points. I do not remember what year. Hope that the writer of this article will check his sources and correct me if, im wrong.

kay Kobe yata yung 81... Ang alam ko 71 points yung kay alvarez kaya si Caidic pa rin ang may highest score in a single game...

While playing his sophomore season for Alaska, Bong Alvarez scored a THEN RECORD 71 POINTS during the 1990 season. Allan Caidic would break Alvarez record one year later with his 79 points explosion against Ginebra in 1991.
