October 27, 2009The team was a beehive of activity over the off-season as Kahn traded away players in exchange for draft picks. The move fell short of expectations as young Spanish sensation Ricky Rubio, who was picked fifth overall in this season's draft, opted to stay in Europe to play two more years.
The situation was quickly remedied when the team signed free-agent Ramon Sessons. Minnesota's cornerstone star Al Jefferson is still not 100 percent after recovering from reconstructive knee surgery last season.
To add insult to injury, sophomore power forward Kevin Love fractured his left hand in a recent pre-season game and is expected to miss about six weeks of action. Battered but not beaten, look at this season as a "work in progress" for this franchise, as it tries to rebuild for the future.

The Oklahoma City Thunder is a growing and dynamic team that is poised to be a serious NBA threat a few years down the road. For now, they are slowly developing a roster of young talent led by forwards Kevin Durant and Jeff Green.
The team drafted a versatile scorer in James Harden, who should eventually serve as a good complementary backcourt partner for Russel Westbrook. Harden's minutes should rise steadily as he gets his feet wet.
Thabo Sefolosha should still retain the starting SG job at the beginning of the season. The main problem that Thunder had to deal with last season was its high rate of turnovers. It's not a surprise considering the inexperience of its key players.
