Who’s next?
There are only a handful of fighters who have a legitimate shot at a fight against Pacquiao. The name that comes to mind is of course Floyd Mayweather, Jr. This could very well be the richest fight in boxing history. This fight will also determine who the best fighter of this generation is. A great side story to this encounter would be the tiff between Freddie Roach and Floyd Mayweather, Sr., which started when the older Mayweather trained Hatton for his fight against Pacquiao. This fight will be extremely easy to market as the two fighters have already mainstream media attention.
Shane Mosley, Edwin Valero, as well as a third fight with Juan Manuel Marquez are all possible but these can all be considered second rate to a once in a lifetime clash with the flamboyant Mayweather. Anything but a fight against Mayweather would be considered a step down for Pacquiao.
