One heads back to the ring to reassert his dominance, to claim what he thinks is rightfully his, to keep his unbeaten record, and to add another name to his already impressive résumé.

The other aims to make the best out of this once in a lifetime opportunity, to be the first to defeat a future hall-of-famer, to make build his own legend, and to stake his claim as one of the very best in the business.

Two different fighters, two vast different roads will collide this Sunday as Floyd “Money” Mayweather (41-0-0, 25 KOs) battles “Vicious” Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KOs).

The Skills to Match His Mouth

After 16 months of inactivity, the prodigal son of boxing will finally grace the ring again. After disposing of Shane Mosley in May of 2010, Mayweather has stayed away from the sport of boxing and concentrated on the other aspects of his life but now he is ready to continue his winning ways.

Mayweather is definitely not the most likeable guy out there. He is a brash talker, who burns hundred dollar bills in night clubs in a time when unemployment is on the rise.

Yet, there is this feeling that he may be doing this all for publicity. Being in the sport of boxing for so long, Mayweather knows how to properly promote a fight. He gives the people reasons to hate him and lure them into buying his matches on pay-per-view for the chance of seeing him get beaten up. And so far, he has disappointed his haters by winning all of his fights.

But amidst all the drama that surrounds Mayweather’s personal life, there is no denying the fact that he is one of the most talented fighters to ever lace up a pair of gloves. He is the best defensive fighter in the sport and his ring IQ is off the roof. Although he is slowly advancing in age, his skill has not shown signs of diminishing. Credit this to the fact that he always tries to stay in shape even if he does not have a fight scheduled. Beneath all the controversy, the talent of Money Mayweather is undeniable. He is as close to a prefect technical fighter as you can get but he is by no means unbeatable.
