SPOILER ALERT:
If you have not seen the first season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, stop reading now. We mean it.

The long wait is finally over. The second season of Game of Thrones, HBO’s adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy book series, A Song of Ice and Fire is finally back. It premieres Saturday, 21 April, 9pm.

With the untimely death of King Robert and after the execution of Ned Stark (damn you Joffrey), a war is brewing in Westeros. Five kings are trying and staking their claim on the Iron Throne.

While your favorite characters are still there—expect more adventures with Arya and witty antics from everyone’s favorite little imp, Tyrion— new players are introduced to the series. Here, we provide you with a short background on the names–some you may already know, others totally new–that you shouldn’t forget. Oh, and yes, winter is still coming. It's actually almost here!

Game of Thrones Season 2 premieres Saturday, April 21, 9pm on HBO
