Hey fellas, have a long, good look at what just arrived: the All-New, Sixth-Generation BMW 3-Series. Beautiful, isn’t it? The world’s best-selling premium car sedan, with a total of 12 million sold since its debut in 1975, attempts to redefine what a car of this class should be.
A hard task? Maricar Parco, the president of Asian Carmakers Corporation, the brand’s official importer, says: “If there is such a thing as a quintessential BMW, it is without doubt, the BMW 3-Series.” The model is one of the brand’s most important in its entire line so we’re sure a close eye was kept on this one from conceptualization to the final production model.
In a formal unveiling held last May 10 at The Fort, FHM finally got a chance to see it up close. We applauded as BMW’s newest babies (four of them, of different variants) made its way to the “catwalk,” where they were eventually parked. We dived in with the crowd for a closer look, and joked around: “O pare, tonight ka na ba bibili?”
The 3-Series is many things: classy, elegant, bold yet refined. It is, however, not cheap. For the majority of us— as in those who aren't tycoons and moguls— the 3-Series is a dream car. Should we get one in the future, expect it to be marked in facebook parlance as a Life Event. Because burning about P3.49 million on a car is rather momentous, don't you think?
Work hard enough, (or forgo having kids) and you should be able to. That’s what makes the car even more desirable: it isn’t beyond our reach, it’s merely at the limit of it.
Meanwhile, we’ll be looking at these photos below to keep the drool flowing. Someday, right guys?
