Honda City 2009
March 2, 2009   |   3594 views

There is another curious thing that has happened in the Honda stable with the entry of the 2009 City: Save for the base, the next model is more expensive than the new Jazz, and it goes on to the top-of-the-line. The opposite was true before. This tells you that the City is an entirely different car and not a Jazz with a trunk stitched on. To make the choice even more difficult, the top of the line City gets paddle shifters as well. And its piece de resistance: The flex audio that comes with a USB cable, from which you can connect your iPod and control the gizmo from your car’s audio system.
Which leads us to a purchasing problem: Will you buy the base at P676,000, and be happy with hubcaps? Will you go for the 1.3 liter manual for P716,000 that’s P4,000 more expensive than the same-model Jazz? Or will you go for the top cat 1.5 liter with everything on it at P806,000, or fork out P24,000 more to go a class higher with the base model Civic? Does the current economic crisis even mean anything to you?
Assuming you are the lone person in the world with money to spend, is what you get from the new 2009 Honda City is obvious: a new body and soul. -Dinzo Tabamo
