The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is one of the most handsome rear-wheel drive sports coup we’ve seen in a while, we’re well on our way to planning a massive car heist for this vehicle alone.
TopGear Philippines even compares the Genesis with the much-desired Chevrolet Camaro in beauty, specs, and dimensions. In terms of price, however, the former is much much more affordable than the latter.
The engine, the Genesis has for example is the 3.8L Dual CVVT V6, almost similar to the Camaro’s 3.6 of the same kind. They are also both naturally aspirated in gasoline.
The coupe has a maximum power of 303hp@6,300rpm and a maximum torque of 361Nm@4,700rpm. It’s been stated that a mere 6 seconds is all it takes for this coupe to take you from a 0 to 60 miles per hour drive.
The Genesis also catches up with the Camaro in terms of transmission, with 6-speed automatic transmission to boot.
The interiors are also spectacular. The push start/stop button is big come-on, giving drivers the simple privilege of convenience. For extra comfort, go ahead and avail yourself of the Smart Key.
The audio system is a must-have at its best, featuring an MP3 player with infinity sound system, along with center speakers and sub-woofers. It also has a 6-CD changer and USB and iPod terminal.
The Genesis also boasts a 5.6-inch blue-light multi-function display for audio, clock, climate control, and outside temperature. The rest of its features are for the driver to see, all in its automatic greatness.
Driving is also much convenient, with the vehicle having its own ESP (electronic stability program) system for a safer driving experience, and the dual front and side airbags are present as well.
Let’s talk about exterior. The coupe’s sunroof is looking sleekier by the model, featuring a single tilting and sliding type with a power-touch safety button. The headlamps are in high intensity discharge as well.
The front bumper is notorious for its chrome moulding, but an honest observation here would indicate that its bumper ain’t as mean-looking as its Chevrolet counterpart. The wheels use a 19in alloy, with 225/40 in the front and 245/45 in the back.
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe has a very wide array of available body colors (12 to be exact), but it’s a real eye candy in sleek silver, blue sapphire, and dynamic yellow, particularly why the vehicle is being matched with the Camaro.
The Genesis is selling locally at Php1.6 to 3 million, depending on engine specifications. This car however is the closest and most affordable thing most Pinoys will ever get to that precious Bumble Bee of a vehicle.
