Berna Kano - FHM 100% Hottie June 2012

If not for a little peer pressure from her friends, Berna Kano may have stayed well-hidden within the confines of her computer shop. Or she might have seemed like some sort of an apparation, as we get a fast glimpse of her in some TV ads. “I gave it a go signal siguro sa influence na rin ng mga friends ko, most of them are models and are now currently part of the [Premiere] Vixens.”  Berna explains.

A good decision, we reckon. Because getting to know Berna Kano is a huge win for all male-dom. Who can resist such a beauty? And really. Berna deserves all the admiration—and more.

"I’m always voted as our class’ muse back in high school, then after that, I got lots of offers to join pageants.” Berna tells us.  “Kaya lang matatalo ako sa height, pero pagdating sa looks department, panalo ako.” She ends up the sentence with a mischievous grin.

Finally we smell confidence coming from her. Little did we know that is just the start. Soon, her hips started swaying. And as she showed more of her curves, her eyes begin to invite. Soon, we were warped. It was just her, us, and the flashes of the camera.

So, what made you say yes to do this shoot and finally show some – no, a lot of skin, really.
Siguro sa influence na lang din ng mga friends and the people around me. Yung mga close friends ko kasi talaga, they’re really models, and most them are part of the Premiere Vixens.

We smell some peer pressure here.
Well, a little. Ha ha! Para sa part ko kasi, hindi ako talaga nagkaroon ng experience na mag-shoot ng sexy. Pero para sa akin, it’s a part of exposure din and it’s going to be a part of my career. Also, I know for a fact na I might show some skin but not to the point na lahat talaga. I know naman na I’ll be working with professionals.

Another factor din siguro kaya I said yes is because of I am spontaneous.  Parang sometimes I just don’t care basta gusto ko gagawin ko pero kapag ayoko, ayoko.

We should thank your friends then. Moving on, when did you realize that you’re very blessed compared to other girls?
From grade school hanggang high school, muse ako palagi. Then when I got a little older, palagi akong nagkakaroon ng mga offers na sumali sa mga pageant pero wala talaga akong confidence kasi medyo maliit ako eh. Kaya I know for a fact na when it comes to the looks department panalo ako – ang feeling ko! Ha ha ha! But seriously alam kong matatalo ako when it comes to height, kaya hindi ko siya na-pursue.

And when did your confidence started to grow?
Before kasi medyo boyish ako, ayako talagang may nakikita sa akin, as in T-shirt, jeans, ganun ako mag-damit. Then yung mommy ko sinabihan ako na ayusin ko naman daw yun mga suot, that I should act like a lady na.

Looking at you now, your mom got more than she wished for.
Sometimes din kasi when I’m in my room I do try to put makeup on myself and from what I see on TV and sa web na parang “ang ganda naman niya.”  So, parang na-aadopt ko siya.  

More so nung nag-subscribe ako sa FHM[.com.ph] kasi ‘di ba nagse-send kayo ng mga newsletter regarding updates then I chance upon reading yung kay Paulene So. Doon ako start ma-inspire kasi she was a makeup artist din and naging neighbor ko siya dati.

What about Paulene So?
One time her brother, who’s also a photographer, hired me when she was looking for models for Frank Provost. I agreed. Then I saw her parang sabi ko “grabe ang hot na hot ng babaeng ‘to,” and that time hindi pa masyadong naka-ayos, very simple lang talaga. And then I saw her as an Online Babe sa site niyo.
