What was the first car you drove?
When I turned sixteen, my dad bought me a car for my birthday. It was a yellow Cabriolet Volkswagen convertible. And so everyone hated me cause I got a car when I was sixteen, right? And it was yellow, it was so nice. Everyone knew it was my car ’cause I was the only one in my neighborhood who had a yellow car. And so the first week that I got my car, I think people were inggit or something. They were jealous or they were pissed off that I got my car. They slashed my tires when it was parked in front of the school.
You won a beauty contest called Faces Asia-Canada and was a finalist in the Model Search America, why didn’t you pursue modeling in Canada?
I tried to. I would enter contests and stuff, and that Model Search America thing, it’s in a magazine. It’s a teen magazine like Seventeen but it’s the “Teen” one, and I thing they have it here, too. So I entered that contest, but it’s just that, I guess Asians back then, like three years ago, weren’t really in the scene. So, I tried it but it didn’t really work out. So the opportunity came when I got the free ticket to the Philippines so I decided to come here and I ended up staying here. But now, I think that I would have a better chance if I was still in Canada because slowly Asians are getting into the scene. You see them in TV shows now, you see them in talk shows, you see them on CNN.
