We get your point. What’s the smallest bikini you have?
Ay naku, I have Brazillian bikinis that are resting in my drawer because I don’t have the courage to wear it here. I’ve been here for a while already so alam ko na ang way of thinking ng Filipinos and I don’t want to be disrespectful.
Trust us, we won’t find it “disrespectful.” Do you have anything smaller than what you wore for this shoot?
They are just as big as the ones used in the shoot. I was actually surprised because some of those I wore are smaller than my own bikinis, ha ha! Pero meron din akong mas maliit pa, ha ha!
Have you always wanted to be a beauty queen?
Hindi. I was very shy when I was growing up. Parang tomboy din ako. But I was always pushed to compete [in beauty contests] in school because I was tall and medyo cute. But it was never something I’d consciously do. You know, “Oh, I want to be a beauty queen.” In fact when I was invited to join my very first pageant, I had already been studying to be a doctor. I never had plans to be a model or to be a beauty queen. But things just happened and I ended up in the Philippines so I guess it’s destiny.
We learned that you’re from the Amazon. What is it like there?
Mainit. I’m from Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas state. We’re located up north, in the middle talaga of the Amazon forest. But it’s maganda, we’re just like Makati but around us are virgin forests. We have all the facilities of living in a metropolis pero we can still enjoy the beauty and fresh air of nature.
