You flew in from Canada to host our website’s coverage of the 100 Sexiest Show, how was the experience?
I like to think of myself as a natural on the microphone. I already make my own online sitcoms back at home. I’m not camera-shy at all. I actually like making people come out of their shells. I try to encourage people to talk on the microphone just to show them that it isn’t not intimidating at all.

We think you did great! So where do you think your talent for communication comes from?
Honestly, I think I’m just a people person. My dad does a lot of work back home with the media. He’s a radio host and he has done some standup comedy, but I’m definitely not strong at things like mathematics or anything concrete. I’m better at things that are more abstract, like literature and art. Ha ha!

How do you like the Philippines so far?
I love it! It’s very different culturally. I find that men aren’t as straightforward than they are back home, which in some cases can be a good thing. Sometimes men who are too forward can be disrespectful but I love the weather here! I like the people, the vegetation and the gorgeous scenery. I don’t want to go back home.

So how should a guy approach a woman without being disrespectful?
Don’t ever get your friend to give a woman your number. That’s the biggest turn off because it shows that you don’t have confidence. It’s okay to approach a woman and remember it is never what you say but how you say it. Whatever’s on your mind find the right way to say it, and then go for it.

Aside from confidence, what other qualities do you find endearing?
I like a man who can put his ego aside. Back in North America a lot of men find it hard doing something nice for a woman because of their ego. They think that it makes them look weak. A man who knows how to value a woman and treat her right is topnotch.

So you’ve dubbed us, the FHM staff, your “little Filipino friends.”
Ha ha! Yes. I just come up with the most random nicknames. Don’t think about it too much. I’ll call people “little” even though they really aren’t at all.

Canada’s known for a number of things like having good indie rock bands, maple syrup and primo pot. What are your thoughts on these?
We do have good pot. The reason why we have good pot is because a lot of it comes from British Colombia and our weed is laced with a lot of chemicals compared to tropical countries.

BC bud sounds delicious.
Its not as organic but it’s more powerful. With regards to the music scene, there’s a strong fan base in Canada. In my city we have a lot of clubs that are just hip-hop. I think that a lot of good bands come out of Canada because the government supports independent rock acts and it helps propel them forward.

Back in Canada, what would be a fun night out for you?
Anything low-key. I don’t think it’s the amount of company you keep but the quality of people. So I could have just as much fun with one person as with twenty. I don’t like to go to the club as much as I used to. I like to be productive. I think I’m getting too old for the club that when I go there I feel like a little rapist.

What are some of the Filipino phrases you’ve learned since you’ve been here?
I don’t know any phrases but I know some bad words. When you learn a new language you usually learn the bad stuff first. Ha ha! But I know bulbul and pekpek!
