How did you end up a supermodel?
Supermodel? Ha ha ha! Of course, when you start in this kind of industry you get to meet a lot of people in the industry and you invest in those connections. In my case I was referred to Robby Carmona, and that’s how I got into my first modeling competition—I landed in the top 10. But I have been modeling since I was 15.
Would you consider the competition your big break?
No, not really. My biggest break happened after college, which was six years after the contest; I went to Singapore for the Shu Uemura campaign. After that I started getting a bunch of gigs in Hong Kong and major ads in the Philippines.
Is it weird seeing yourself in TV commercials?
Nope, it’s not weird. I love it. I love the attention! Ha ha ha! But I don’t think I’d like too much of it. I still get stage frights until now!
What do you do to remove the jitters?
I just tell myself, “The stage is mine, I have to get through this, and I just have to work it!” Ha ha ha!
