Has anybody taught you dirty Tagalog talk yet?
Actually, I was taught only nice words in Tagalog: kumusta, mabuti, salamat po, and, of course, maganda. Ha ha! But I don’t really speak Tagalog. I only know simple words and some phrases. I must say it’s a bit difficult to learn the language. Everybody speaks English. Whenever I try to say something in Tagalog and get stuck, people just say, “Okay Ma’am, speak English.” In Poland, on the contrary, majority of people speak only Polish, and if you don’t learn a little of it you will be stuck at the grocery store trying to figure out which is which and what to buy.
You built your career as a model in Poland for five long years. Is it hard to leave all that behind?
It wasn’t so hard. After all I don’t treat modeling so dead seriously—it’s only a part of my life. I was actually more curious about being exposed to a completely new culture and having new experiences in my life.
