How do you call people who are half-Armenian, half-Filipino—Fil-Arms?

Ha ha! Filipino Armenian or Armenian Filipino—I guess there aren’t that many [of us]. My father’s Armenian and his family is from Yerevan, that’s the capital. But he grew up in Canada. I’ve never been to Armenia; I was born in Toronto, but we moved here when I was three. My dad’s family still lives in North York, though.

What do you do for a living?

I work in advertising. I took up Business Management in college, but I’ve always been creative. I like that advertising gives me the freedom to be creative and practice what I learned with the degree.

Do you write? Conceptualize campaigns?
I conceptualize campaigns—art direction, concept, set design, the works. I like handling projects from scratch. And when you see them out, like on paper, it’s the best! When you see it printed it feels like you’ve done something totally awesome. I think you know how it feels, right?
