Outside of Nelly Furtado, we haven’t really heard about anyone with that name until you came along. Does Furtado pertain to something?
It’s not a very common surname in Brazil, it’s actually from Portugal. Nelly Furtado is also half-Portuguese. I love my surname, in Portuguese it means “stolen.” Ha ha!

We’ve been researching about you and found out that there’s another Anna Furtado—who’s actually a lesbian fiction writer. Are you related of some sort?
I know this other Anna Furtado; she has 63 books already! She’s the one who wrote The Heart’s Desire. But lesbian fiction isn’t really my favorite.

Speaking of lesbians—have you had any encounters with girls?
(laughs) I never had any hot contact before with girls. But I guess I am not looking for it. If it happens, I think it will be a nice experience. But I am sure about my preference; I love men, and I do not imagine sex better than that.

Brazilian models are one of the hottest in the world. How tight is the modeling industry there?
In Brazil it’s really hard to be a model. First of all, the country has so many. That’s why everybody wants to go to other countries. In Brazil I am just another model, but here I am Anna Furtado, I have a job, I have respect, and I feel like a real model! It’s amazing!

Let’s talk love and dating—are you seeing anyone right now?
Ha ha! When it comes to love I am free. But I do have a hot and intense dating life! Sometimes you need to give back many things in life for yourself, like freedom and self-confidence.
