Do you really like numbers?
Yeah, I love math a lot. Actually, nung high school pa. I hate English, I hate History, I hate Literature, I hate Geography. All I love is math and science siguro, a little. Basta anything with computations, with formula. I chose Accountancy because I like the idea na may CPA with my name: Giane Sales, CPA. People don’t believe it when I tell them.

Why do you think they don’t believe you?
I don’t know. Sabi nila they thought I was a Tourism or a MassCom student. Siguro it affects their perception towards me.

They’re just being stereotypical.
Oo nga. They’re freaking out when I tell them I love math.
What do you love about being a Stoplight TV angel?
It’s a new thing for me. I have no experience in hosting, pero I like it. It’s fun. And I love the cars, sobra.
 
One of the perils of the job is looking the part around car enthusiasts, who are men mostly. Any mishaps yet?
I’m pretty cool with the outfits [and the guys]. I’m getting used to it. They’re nice naman. Sasapakin ko sila if they’re bastos!

So you’re really into cars.
Yeah, but I crash a lot—sobra! I don’t know why. Recently I crashed na naman along Edsa. I was driving my way home, it was 4 o’clock in the morning and there weren’t any cars. So I just sped. I wasn’t drunk. Pero I was thinking of something kasi. So, my car’s flying and my mind’s flying as well, so yun.

Glad you’re still in one piece. And the car?
Totally wrecked. Until now it’s not yet fixed. But there was one time I crashed on purpose.

Why in hell would you do that?
Because my parking slot at my condominium was so tight. It wasn’t mine to begin with; the building management did the switching. So to let them know I was pissed, I intentionally backed up straight into the wall. There was little damage pero malakas din. I got their attention all right and gave me a better slot after.
