How long have you been in Manila?
On and off for about three years now. I have to go to LA at least once a year. The Philippines is my home now but I also can’t stand being away from my family and friends for too long.

How did you feel about leaving them to start life anew here?
It was a mix of being scared and excited. I mean, the only reason I moved out here was to be with my boyfriend so I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve learned to love this country with its warm people and beautiful islands. Oh, and the food here is fantastic! Although I still miss In-Out, Carl’s Jr., and El Taco Llama!
