It took us a lot of convincing, begging even, to get you to do this shoot. Why did you make it that hard for us?
Kasi hindi ako ganun ka-confident. Ewan ko. Sobrang baba ng self-esteem ko. Masyadong magaganda kasi yung mga nasa magazine ninyo. Ayoko lang malait! Ha ha!

So no one has ever told you that you’re sexy?
Wala! Pretty lang daw ako! Ha ha! Yun lang: pretty at maliit!

We couldn’t help noticing that you’ve got great abs. Do you workout?
A month ago nag-shoot kami ni Sir Paul [the photographer] tapos sabi niya, “Gwen, parang medyo mataba ka.” Then when he asked me if I could do this shoot I decided to really prepare for it. I went on a diet for three days, hanggang medyo nahihilo na ako kaya tinigilan ko. And then super kain na ulit! Chubby kasi ako dati.

We heard you’re good friends with Premiere Vixen Jahziel Manabat…
Ka-work ko siya. Sakto lang pagkakaibigan namin. We’re not too close pero di naman kami magkaaway! Magka-work lang talaga kami.

Is it because you have different personalities?
Siguro. But we’re both makulit—pero mas makulit siya sa akin. Ibang level siya! Whenever we’re together ako yung tumatawa palagi. Ako kasi gusto ko yung nanonood lang. Pero idol ko yun sa pakikisama!

When you see Jahziel’s shoots for FHM, do you ever think that you could do something like that?
Not even once. Ha ha!

What if you had the same “assets” as hers?
Hindi pa rin, kasi nung high school ako I was kind of boyish. I wasn’t the type who would wear sexy clothing, kaya hindi siguro para sa akin yung mga ganun.

You’re a car show model. How long have you been in the scene?
I’ve been doing it for three years na rin.

You strike us as the shy-type. Are you still as reserved once you’re on the job?
Hindi naman. Nasanay na lang din ako. Nagpa-panic lang ako pag kinakausap na ako tapos di ko alam yung gagawin ko.
