SPECIAL THANKS TO HOTEL VIDA CLARK
It’s unusual to see someone on the verge of being a star, go into hiding. That’s why we here at FHM were befuddled when White Castle whisky Babe Gemma Gatdula went MIA. Where, where, where could Gemma be?
Turns out, we were looking at all the wrong places. Gemma could not be found in Manila because she’s not here. Somewhere way up North is what Gemma calls home. But a bigger Aha! moment: She’s been using an alias since we last saw her.
But as all old school hard knocks know, patience and perseverance always pay off. The moment we learned of her whereabouts, we knew we weren’t letting her go this time. Book her, we did.
And so to shake off all the jitters and all the anxiety, a reintroduction. Gents, meet Gem, err, Ammeg.
So From Gemma to Ammeg?
Ha ha ha! Gemma seems so tiring and usual. E since, 69 naman ang favorite number ko. I said to myself, why can’t I do it to my name to. Ha ha ha! Meg is a nice name it’s sexy and all but Ammeg, now that’s unique and sexy, too!
We've heard you had a conflict with our June cover girl RR?
I have nothing against her. I know she is working really hard to earn a name in showbiz. Although, I think I should also be enjoying the same opportunities given to her, especially the White Castle endorsement, since I was the one who won the contest.
So, now that your claim against WC is under legal process, got any message for them?
I thought, winning the search will certainly serve as my launch pad to some good opportunities. They chose me to be their product endorser along with some fine contest prizes. But none of them were ever materialized. I’ve been quite hesitant to come out and seek answers to these ever since, but now that I’ve been left hanging for years. I just hope and pray that everything will be settled in the court.
Any plans will see you back in the limelight?
I’m actually waiting for that particular moment to come, no need to rush basta makarating ako doon.
You said this is your sexiest shoot yet, why so?
Yes, the thought of posing for FHM makes it the sexiest among my previous stints, although it’s that mind-conditioning that actually turns the pictorial sexy.
Does this mean that should somebody ask you, you’d be willing to take on sexier, more matured roles in TV?
If the offer is really good, of course, I’ll give it a try.
We've heard your family didn’t approve some of the shots taken, are they always this strict with you?
No, actually they’ve always been supportive. I was blessed with a family who understands and supports my decision.
We can line you up with both Carla Abellana and Marian Rivera. You know you look like them, right?
Oh really? Ha ha ha! I’ll take that as a compliment. Who wouldn’t want to be compared to them. I haven’t met any of them yet, but I would love to do a photo shoot with them so people can decide if I really look like them. Ha ha ha!
What was the toughest challenge you got during the WC contest?
All the challenges were equally tough. I remember there was one time I had to hold a 6-foot long snake while doing a sexy dance number. That was terrible! Ha ha ha!
You said you’re boyfriend collects FHM. Did he see you on our October '08 issue?
Yes, but I actually don’t approve him buying the FHM every month.
Why?
He has to wait until he’ll see me on the cover. Ha ha ha!
You told us you own thongs, but this was the first time you wore one. What’s up with that?
They were just gifts from friends. They’re just stocked in my closet, and haven’t had the guts to wear one until now.
During your stint in the Philippines Next Top Model, you were branded as a bad girl. Are you one in real life?
I don’t know why I was branded as the bad one, but I would have to say I’m not. Ha ha ha! I just want to play things real.
So does that mean you consider Ruffa Gutierrez as your modeling mentor?
Yes. She’s been very kind and supportive. She gives us tips and insights during the competition.
You’ve done two reality-based competitions, if you’ll try your luck again would you rather be locked inside a house or be left on a deserted island?
If I get the chance, I want to be left on a deserted island. I have experienced a lot of trials and challenges in life. And I must say, I am a self-proclaimed survivor. Ha ha ha!
