Another batch of Sofie's photos will be uploaded next week only here on FHM.com.ph!
INTERVIEW: LOU E. ALBANO PHOTOGRAPHER: DOC MARLON PECJO STYLIST: TELAY ROBLES MAKE UP: ARCHIE TOLENTINO
We should've seen it coming; technology sideswiping the world, we mean. When FHM ran the Girls Next Door competition in 2004, Sofie didn't just rely on magazine exposure. She ran an online campaign of sorts. She was there in the Bullboard, participating in various threads, making friends with everyone. Needless to say, she became the first Girl Next Door winner. Two years later, Sofie signed up as an FHM Blogger, where she documented her Girl-Next-Door's life with the million of FHM online readers. She let us in on her everyday exploits. She narrated her nocturnal shebangs. And then those photos. Sofie posted lots and lots of them. On her blog's anniversary in fact, Sofie posted one particular photo that screamed...that screamed period. Not only did the blogosphere celebrate her blog's first anniversary, the photo itself became a cause of celebration. Of course, we can't let the occasion pass without our participation, so let's hear it for Sofie, our Online Babe for the month o' July! Cheers!
Happy anniversary to your blog! A year later and everyone's just as interested as when you started. How do you keep your readers interested? What's your secret? Thank you! And thank you to all my FHM blog readers! Keeping readers interested isn't really a big secret. It's just knowing what they want to see, and what they want to read about, rather than writing entries on things that appeal to me. Interacting personally with the readers helps in determining what interests them and it's also one of the best ways to create a connection with them.
That mini celeb-the wet photo and your contest. How'd that go? Yup, it's a mini but worthwhile celebration. I love doing my blog and at the same time, I love my readers. That was a way to connect to my readers and say thank you. It went well, but I've yet to announce the winners. I'm thinking of doing more mini events like that on my blog. My inbox was flooded!
Have you made any online friends that you actually see in person? I've made friends through my blog, and even in some online social communities' sites. Some were introduced to me in person by friends of friends, while others would maintain the exchange of friendly online messages. I can't say I've gone out with any of them but sometimes, it just happens that they are part of friend's social circle. I'd get to see them and hang with some of them in parties and in clubs.
Do you have a rule on dating "fans?" I've never dated a fan. Most o the readers that I've met in person are just random. They'd come up to me and say "Hi, are you Sofie, the FHM blogger?" We'd engage in a short chit-chat and that's it. Some readers that I've met are friends of friends so I'd see them in parties and have a few drinks. I wouldn't call it a date. It's more socializing than dating.
You seem to take this blogging business rather seriously. Is there a boyfriend, feeling jealous somewhere? The basic of blogging is writing. I used to be an English literary editor for the school publication of my high school and my university. I even won a short-story writing contest in the whole university before. Maintaining a blog is a challenge, so blogging-because it's also writing-is a serious business for me. And lucky me, there is no jealous boyfriend.
No boyfriend?! Well, if there is, making up for not being able to spend time with him should be very easy. I've got different ways of making up for things, especially to a man. [Smiles]
Apart from your online activities, what else keeps you busy? There are a lot of things going on right now. There are travel plans, but I'm more focused on modeling. I will be working with FTV sometime soon. I'd be doing post-production training on editing at a film school here.
What would you never do online-cybersex, perhaps? Or have you found clips of you doing shiznit online? I would never get involved in anything like that. I'm very careful with who I go out with. I exist more online than offline so anything like that would spread fast and would effect me badly. So far, I've only seen a few candid photos of me in parties or at the beach. I would recognize the photos, if a friend took it or if they were taken by somebody at the next table.
You're onto your blog's second year. What can people expect? They should expect for more exciting and more interesting entries. I'm looking forward to blogging about more fun, fearless, and sexy celebrities. I would be open to blogging about my fun fearless, and sexy female readers. And I'd love to blog about must-visit parties.
Let's clue in the readers. There's that draft that's been waiting to see print for the longest time. When do you intend to post that blog entry? Readers, from the looks of it, that particular entry seems very, very steamy. Ha ha ha! Yeah, that draft. Hopefully, I should be able to post and share that sometime soon. Let me first go through all my personal video collections at home! You know, I could sell an album with my collection. Ha ha ha!
